Tour Overview
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & The White Rhino Tracking Experience
The Journey: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your private safari guide meets you. Head north toward Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary (the only place in Uganda where rhinos roam wild in their natural habitat).
The Activity: Embark on a guided on-foot rhino tracking experience. Accompanied by expert rangers, you will walk safely within close range of these magnificent southern white rhinos.
Accommodation: Ziwa Rhino Lodge
- Situated right inside the sanctuary.
- Offers comfortable, rustic cottage-style rooms nestled in the bush.
- Features a relaxed dining area where you can often spot monkeys or birds right from the porch.
Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park & The Mighty Waterfall
The Journey: Continue driving north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most spectacular protected wildlife area.
The Activity: In the afternoon, visit the Top of the Falls. Here, the entire Nile River—the world’s longest river—is forced violently through a narrow 7-meter gorge, plunging 43 meters in a thunderous roar. The mist creates permanent rainbows.
Accommodation: Murchison River Lodge
- Located on the southern bank of the Victoria Nile.
- Offers thatched cottages and safari tents with stunning views across the river.
- Features a lovely swimming pool and campfire area to unwind under the stars.
Day 3: Game Drive & Nile Boat Cruise
Morning: Set off early on a game drive across the rolling savannah of the northern sector (Lions, Rothschild's giraffes, African elephants, herds of Uganda kobs, buffaloes, and leopards).
Afternoon: Take a classic launch cruise down the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls. You’ll cruise past massive pods of hippos, huge Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, and abundant waterbirds,
Accommodation: Murchison River Lodge (Second night)
Day 4: Scenic Transit to Queen Elizabeth National Park
The Journey: Drive south toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route takes you along the foot of the dramatic Rwenzori Mountains (the "Mountains of the Moon") and through small rural villages, tea plantations, and crater lakes.
Accommodation: Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge
- Set on the banks of the Kazinga Channel, blending seamlessly into the surrounding park.
- Features eco-friendly self-contained bandas (cabins) with private flush toilets and solar showers.
- Known for its campfire stories and occasional nightly visits from hippos and elephants grazing nearby.
5: Game Drive & The Kazinga Channel Safari
Morning: Enjoy a morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, tracking lions, elephants, hyenas, and sweeping herds of antelopes against the backdrop of the great Rift Valley.
Afternoon: Embark on a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel, a 32-kilometer natural waterway linking Lake Edward and Lake George. This channel boasts one of the highest concentrations of hippos and water-dependent wildlife in the world.
Accommodation: Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge (Second night)
Day 6: Ishasha Tree-Lions to Lake Mburo
Morning: Drive through the remote Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth, famous for its iconic lions that lazily lounge high up in the branches of giant fig trees.
Afternoon: Journey onward to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest savannah park, characterized by rolling hills, acacia woodlands, and tranquil lakes.
Accommodation: Rwakobo Rock
- Perched on a massive granite outcrop commanding panoramic views over Lake Mburo National Park.
- Features private, scattered thatched cottages built into the natural rock landscape.
- Powered entirely by solar energy with a lovely pool overlooking the savannah.
Day 7: Walking Safari & Return to Entebbe
Morning: Swap the safari vehicle for a guided walking safari or an optional horseback safari. Because Lake Mburo has no large predatory cats like lions, it is one of the few places in East Africa where you can walk safely among zebras, elands, impalas, giraffes, and waterbucks.
Return: Drive back south to Kampala/Entebbe, stopping at the Equator crossing for photos and souvenir shopping, arriving in time for your evening departure flight.
